Meet Candace Monacelli

Welcome to my website! I’m the organized hard worker with an energetic personality you can’t forget. I love everything weather and I enjoy running and exploring new places so much!

I’m currently the weekend morning meteorologist and reporter for the Fox affiliate in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I am a member of the down to earth and hardworking team at Fox 17 News covering numerous different weather conditions throughout the four seasons in West Michigan and lifestyle segments for the morning news program.

I previously was the weekend meteorologist and reporter for the NBC affiliate in Youngstown, Ohio. I was a part of the most accurate weather team at WFMJ sharing the daily weather story, enjoying segments with new businesses around the Valley on the #1 morning show and creating stories for daily newscast content. I had a great opportunity to work with Candice Coleman on improving my voice and on-air style.

I graduated from Kent State University in May 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism. I also completed the broadcast meteorology program at Mississippi State University in August 2016 to become a certified meteorologist. While at Kent State, I held several positions at the award-winning student-run television station, TV2.

I interned at WOIO Cleveland 19 , the CBS affiliate in Cleveland and at WKYC Channel 3 News, the NBC affiliate in Cleveland. At Cleveland 19, I improved my skills spending countless hours out in the field with reporters and in the weather center. Producers trusted my to cover stories and conduct interviews on my own for the newscasts and I was also on-air with the weather team for an 11pm newscast. At Channel 3, I improved my weather skills on-air and forecasting abilities with many hours in the weather center working with Chief Meteorologist Betsy Kling.
